CONNECTED DRIVE SERVICES.

The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services forms the basis for the BMW ConnectedDrive functions, which provide the driver with a wide range of information, entertainment and service features while on the road.
These include BMW Online, which provides access to current, localised information such as weather, news, an online search powered by GoogleTM and also office functions.
Convenient, secure and unlimited access to selected smartphone apps is also included. ConnectedDrive Services also provides access to the BMW ConnectedDrive Store, in which services and apps can be ordered and extended anytime and anywhere to suit the user's individual requirements. The equipment option ConnectedDrive Services offers all this and more, making every trip in a BMW a real experience.

CONCIERGE SERVICES.

For anyone who has ever wanted to know what it is like to have their own personal butler, here is the chance: with Concierge Services from BMW ConnectedDrive. At the push of a button the driver is connected with a BMW Call Centre agent who acts as their "personal assistant" on the road.

From a particular restaurant to the nearest cash dispenser or an emergency pharmacy – the BMW Call Centre agent is there to help and can even send information directly to the navigation system. Concierge Services operate independently of the driver's mobile phone and are available in their home country and abroad, around-the-clock, seven days a week and at no extra cost.

INTERNET.

The Internet option provides access to the web on the car's high-resolution Control Display. So the driver can use the internet just like on their computer at home with full UMTS speed. URLs can be entered easily and conveniently using the iDrive Controller, or selected from the bookmark list for fast access.
With the data flat rate for internet use, users can surf the web directly from the car nationwide (no roaming). The Control Display can be used to access the internet while travelling at a speed of up to 4 km/h. With rear-seat entertainment Professional, passengers in the rear can also use the internet via flat screens integrated into the front seats.
 

REAL TIME TRAFFIC INFORMATION.

Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI) provides the most up-to-date traffic information at all times. Precise details about the time and duration of hold-ups are relayed to provide almost instantaneous traffic information about motorways, country roads and main roads, as well as numerous urban routes. Intelligent alternative route suggestions help the driver reach their destination as efficiently as possible. The data is drawn from such sources as anonymous movement profiles from the GPS data of vehicle fleets, smartphone apps and police reports, and also takes into account established traffic patterns such as peak commute times.
The traffic information is clearly presented, with the roads displayed in green, yellow, orange and red.

REMOTE SERVICES.

REMOTE SERVICES.

With Remote Services and the free My BMW Remote App (available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store), various vehicle-related functions, such as locking and unlocking the car, can be operated remotely. It is also possible to directly transmit destination addresses found using the Google™ search engine to a navigation system if one is available. Additionally, the location of the vehicle can also be displayed. To use this feature, customers simply need to activate Remote Services once in the "My BMW ConnectedDrive" customer portal at www.bmw-connecteddrive.com.

INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY CALL.

The Intelligent Emergency Call guarantees fast, targeted assistance round-the-clock as well as support from trained staff – in the driver's native language, even when they're abroad. If an accident takes place involving the activation of an airbag or the belt tensioners, an Intelligent Emergency Call is automatically issued. Relevant details such as the exact position of the car, the severity of the accident and the possible risk of injury to occupants are transmitted to the BMW Call Centre via the car’s built-in SIM card, i.e. independent of a private mobile phone. The BMW Call Centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and provide assistance over the phone until the rescue services arrive. The emergency call can also be triggered manually in case other road users require help, for example.
