In just three steps you can easily extend the generous 440 litres of boot space to an impressive 590 litres by moving the rear-seat bench forward. And you don't have to worry about passenger comfort, occupants still have more legroom than in a BMW 5 Series Sedan. By folding down the 40:20:40 divisible rear-seat bench or the individual seats, you can increase space even further to an amazing 1,700 litres. Fastening points and straps as well as storage compartments ensure everything stays in its place throughout the journey.

The practical centre console provides drinks holders, storage space and operation of the optional seat heating.

By pressing a button in the luggage compartment, the seats fold down individually and can be returned to their original position by pressing the reset button.

The two-zone automatic air conditioning creates a comfortable interior climate all year round. The circulation filter, sun and condensation sensors, and residual heat utilisation allow the occupants to quickly set their ideal temperature. The air vents in the instrument control can be set on one focused position through to general, draft-free air circulation. The optional four-zone automatic air conditioning allows rear-seat passengers to separately control the climate in the rear, including the additional blowers in the B pillar between the front and rear doors, using the controls in the centre console.

Rear-seat entertainment in the BMW Gran Turismo.

Two adjustable 8-inch monitors and a DVD player set new standards in entertaining travelling. The monitors can be used to watch TV or listen to the radio (DVB-T receiver is optional). Passengers never have to worry about disturbing the driver thanks to separate headphone connections. In the Professional version, two 10-inch individual monitors are operated via a remote controller and rear-seat occupants are also able to access the navigation system, BMW Online and BMW Free Internet.

Look left for the controls and paddles for speed control and right for vehicle information systems as well as music, volume, Voice Control and telephone controls. Thanks to its small diameter, the optional sports steering wheel fits snugly in the driver's hands.
