UAE, Abu Dhabi – The long-awaited BMW M track day took place earlier last week at the legendary Yas Marina Circuit, home of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The event gave VIPs, customers and media the opportunity to experience first-hand the thrill of high-performance rides with a number of elite BMW M models on the tarmac.

Hosted by Abu Dhabi Motors, the official BMW importer for Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, the event unleashed the BMW X5M, X6M, BMW M3 Sedan, BMW M4 Coupé as well as the latest edition to the M line up the BMW M2 Coupé. Guests also had the rare opportunity to act as co-driver to BMW’s Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) driver Augusto Farfus, who pushed both the cars and passengers to their limits.

Arno Husselmann, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Motors, said: “We constantly aim to provide our customers with adrenaline-charged experiences and offerings, allowing them to indulge their interest in M power automobiles. It was very exciting to have the BMW M2 Coupé as part of the line-up and show off its superior capabilities on this great track. We will continue to give our customers the opportunity to push their favorite M Power cars to the limit with events that give all our guests a chance to experience the exhilaration and excitement of an unforgettable drive.”

The BMW M2 deploys cutting-edge M TwinPower Turbo technology with its three-litre six-cylinder in-line engine. Reaching the 100km/h mark in just 4.3 seconds, the M2 Coupé produces 272 kW/370 hp and 465 Nm and boasts rear-wheel-drive agility, lightweight aluminium M Sport suspension and extrovert styling - all the ingredients to deliver sheer driving pleasure.

Setting the benchmark in terms of driving dynamics and outstanding efficiency in the high-performance Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) and Sports Activity Coupé (SAC) segments, the BMW X6M and X5M models are powered by the latest-generation 4.4-litre V8 engine, using innovative M TwinPower Turbo technology to push torque and output to high performance levels.

Supreme track models, the BMW M3 Sedan and new BMW M4 Coupé, were also star attractions at the event. Underlining their high performance credentials, both models include aggressive-looking sporty designs, yet fulfil functional roles in terms of aerodynamics, cooling and weight-saving. Both the BMW M3 Sedan and BMW M4 Coupe cover the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds with seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission.

The most applauded of the BMW SUV performance line-up, the BMW X5 M and BMW X6 M have the most powerful engine ever developed by BMW for an all-wheel-drive vehicle. Boasting innovative M TwinPower Turbo technology with a pair of TwinScroll turbochargers, cross-bank exhaust manifolds, VALVETRONIC and High Precision Direct Petrol Injection, the 4.4-litre V8 produces a maximum output of 423 kW/575 hp. Although, it powers from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds through the standard eight speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic, it’s top speed is limited to 250 km/h (155mph).

“We are delighted to offer our customers the dominant BMW M-Power lineup, showcasing a remarkable combination of timeless designs and break-through technology, all injected with the racetrack genes of M Power.
