Abu Dhabi Motors announces the arrival of the all-new BMW 4 Series Convertible
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi Motors (ADM), the official importer of BMW Group vehicles in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, is thrilled to announce the arrival of the new BMW 4 Series Convertible, which packages driving pleasure in a particularly exclusive form.
The standout element of the models in the new BMW 4 Series range is the carefully judged enhancement of its sporting abilities, and now, this can also be combined with the pleasure of open-top motoring.
The vehicle is a new benchmark for dynamic driving pleasure combined with the allure of exclusive open-air motoring in the premium midsize segment. The car’s design is conceived in the brand’s current styling language, which radiates sporting elegance.
Yet, the convertible boasts a new type of roof design and performance that has stepped up significantly compared to its predecessor, ensuring the latest generation of the open-top four-seater is a highly compelling proposition. The standalone body design has dynamically stretched proportions and a low-slung silhouette. Additionally, the expressive front end brings together tradition-rich and modern styling features and the prominent, upright BMW kidney grille references legendary sports cars from the brand’s past.
With a newly developed panel bow soft top roof, it perfectly marries the strengths of a retractable hardtop and the puristic appeal of a fabric hood, thereby combining the best of both worlds. The roof is 40 per cent lighter than its predecessor, whilst the acoustic and thermal comfort are far superior to those of a conventional design. Customers can enjoy a stunning soft top which comes in Black as standard or Anthracite Silver effect.
Significantly enhanced performance capabilities resulting from an extremely stiff body structure with reinforced side skirts, additional convertible-specific bracing, and a new aluminium shear panel in the front end, are key features of the BMW 4 Series Convertible. With a low centre of gravity and a perfectly balanced 50:50 weight distribution, customers can enjoy the optimised dynamics.
An eight-speed Steptronic transmission will be a standard on all model variants for the first time, however there is an optional eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission with new Sprint function for instantaneous and dynamic acceleration.
The interior offers a modern premium ambience and characteristic blend of sporting flair and sophisticated elegance. The cockpit has been designed with a driver-centric approach, boasting electrically adjustable sports seats in the front with automatically extending and retracting belt feeders. Moreover, a leather sports steering wheel comes as standard and knee pads on the centre console, is an additional option.
The vehicle has optimised functionality for both everyday journeys and longer distances. The variable soft top compartment allows luggage capacity to be increased and there is also a storage package, folding rear backrest, and through-loading facility.
In addition, top-class equipment features make open-top driving an even more pleasurable experience. There is an optional wind deflector which can be stored behind the rear backrest and optional neck warmers have been integrated into the front head restraints. Drivers can enjoy the three-zone automatic climate control, ambient lighting with the Welcome Light Carpet, a Harman Kardon surround sound system, and an auxiliary heating system controlled through the BMW Display Key are optional.
There are a wide range of driver assistance systems in the newest BMW 4 Series Convertible, comprising of, Park Distance Control with sensors at the front and rear, a front collision warning with brake intervention, Lane Departure Warning including lane return with steering assistance, and a Speed Limit Info system. Moreover, the optional Driving Assistant Professional adds several features including the Steering and Lane Control Assistant with the new Active Navigation and Emergency Lane Assistant functions, alongside the innovative 3D visualisation of surrounding area in the digital instrument cluster.
